Ph.D. Funding
Ph.D. students do not need to apply for funding separately from their graduate application to UIC. All applicants are evaluated for both admission to the program and funding. We generally offer funding to all admitted Ph.D. students in the form of a teaching assistantship, which includes both a stipend and a waiver that covers tuition and most fees. In addition to teaching assistantships, we offer some opportunities for graduate students to work as research assistants or course instructors. Some summer assistantships are also available.
Additional information about graduate funding can be found on the Graduate College website. Information about current tuition rates and fees can be found on the Registrar's website.
We do not provide assistantships to master's students.
